Wow that was cool! Unexpected, for sure, but welcome. As the relatives go home, the students return to school, and workdays off become scarce, it is you, our friends, our weekly players, we rely upon and appreciate for the ongoing support. Happy New Year, my friends!
In for some fun last week was (in order of registration): Ye Faithful (who arrived nearly as early as they departed),404: Team Not Found (who are the types of people who may break out in song and dance at any moment), CD Crew (who occasionally stop in, old school style), Run CDC (whose energy and zeal is unmatched in the squire), We R Family (come on, everybody, sing), The Flu Crew (who were in to spread the news that they had gotten over the flu, not to spread it), Pentagon (who were named for their team size, not the building), That Team From Ridgely (whose smiles brighten the darkest days), Green Fox (which reminds me, nobody ever told me what the fox actually says), Two Drunk Girls (well, two out of three ain't bad), Silly Billys )whose name was almost as silly as they), We're Going Streaking (whose pop-culture references are often beyond me), East of Easton (whose compass appears intact), Team Merkin (where in blazes have you been hiding?), and, finally, New Year, New Me (who put up a great late comeback attempt, admirable).
With so many teams in the house (15), it was surely to be a fun and challenging game. At halftime a tie was not a surprise, but three ties was unique. Tied up on top were Run CDC and That Team From Ridgely, We're Going Streaking (no they weren't) were in 3rd. 404: Team Not Found and The Flu Crew were tied up in 4th, and Team Merking and Green Fox were tied up in 8th. Speaking of Round 2 Art Bonuses... stylize "2023" in 2 or more colors for 4 points, bonus.
As we frolicked into the final question, We're Going Streaking had managed to frighten the other teams out of the top spots as That Team From Ridgely proved they don't scare easily, and Green Fox was acting more like a frog by jumping high into a tie for 3rd with The Flu Crew. High=speed camera in place, waiting for the photo finish!

Run CDC gently paraded the trophy to the new winners who now bear the responsibility of defending their trophy this week, same bat-time, same bat-channel.
