We kicked off the night with 56 players across 9 teams, all chasing the coveted trophy in our pre-Thanksgiving showdown. The first half saw tight clustering at the top, with Amherst 4 and Crappy Old Farts With Knowledge tied for the lead at 6 points apiece. That Team From Ridgely – Family Edition, Gobble D. Gook, and Tristan’s Raiders also held strong with 6 each, keeping the leaderboard packed and the pressure high.
Smartinis, Turkey Trot, CRS, and Whatever You Want rounded out the field, all posting 6s at halftime—proof that even early on, no team was out of the running. With everyone knotted at the halfway mark, it was anyone’s game heading into the second half.
The second half delivered a classic Marlet Street shake-up. Crappy Old Farts With Knowledge surged ahead to 77 points before the final, edging out Ridgely (74) and Amherst 4 (73). Gobble D. Gook and Tristan’s Raiders stayed in striking distance, while Smartinis, Turkey Trot, and Whatever You Want needed a miracle finish.
Then came the final question—and the wagers made all the difference.
- Amherst 4 played it cool, wagering zero and answering correctly to lock in 73 points and the win.
- Tristan’s Raiders nailed the final with a modest 6-point wager, leapfrogging into second place at 61.
- Crappy Old Farts With Knowledge and Ridgely both missed their final answers, dropping to third and fifth respectively.
- Gobble D. Gook, CRS, Smartinis, Turkey Trot, and Whatever You Want all went big and missed, tumbling down the ranks.
